I’m board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
My journey in medicine began long before I was accepted to medical school. My upbringing and personal experiences uniquely shaped my path. Having both parents in the medical field ignited the fire in me to pursue a career in medicine.
I attended medical school at the Faculty of Medicine Al Kasr AlAiny Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. During this time, I was trained and mentored by my father, Dr. Sameh Sobhy, a famous gynecologist in Egypt. Doctor Sameh Sobhy practiced gynecology and obstetrics in Egypt for over 35 years while owning and managing a multi-specialty hospital in a rural area south of Cairo. This mentorship was the first cornerstone of my clinical training.
Upon completing my medical education, I moved to Los Angeles, CA. My passion for advancing medical research led me to join Ruane Medical and Research Institute. Here, I assisted in overseeing several phase 2 and 3 clinical trials under the guidance of Dr. Peter Ruane, a renowned leader in the field of infectious diseases.
I then moved to Wilkes Barre, PA, to pursue my residency in family medicine. I spent three years training in a community-based residency program at Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
After graduating residency in 2018, I returned to California and joined Beaver Medical Group as a family medicine doctor, later partnered with Optum.
To further understand the healthcare system, advocate for my patients, and guide them through it, I pursued my MBA in healthcare management and graduated in February 2023.
My commitment to patient care goes beyond medical knowledge and evidence-based practice. I view each patient as a fellow human being, a perspective that has underscored the importance of effective communication in my practice.
My patients often commend me for my attentive listening, compassion, and care. They appreciate my willingness to invest time in getting to know them. These qualities stem from my deep understanding of human nature and my belief in the Whole-Person approach to well-being, addressing all three physical, mental, and spiritual elements of wellbeing.
We love our patients, so feel free to visit during business hours.
